A Decade Together

My husband and I have always discussed our plans for our 10year wedding anniversary. But it seemed so far away, until it was no longer a distant dream. Travel is extremely important to us both, so it was a no brainer that we wanted to celebrate our wedding milestone at an international destination. I our years together, from courtship to marriage we’ve travelled to numerous destinations. But our favourite country to date is South Africa.

I spent months planning our return to South Africa. The first time we visited South Africa was in 2017 for a conference. We naïvely only planned our trip to Johannesburg. But we were quickly filled with envy when others at the conferenced discussed their next stop to Cape Town. Fool me once they say! So this time, we planned a 10day trip with an adventure filled itinerary to Johannesburg and Cape Town. We were also blessed to have our friends, two couples join us on the trip.

What a glorious trip and celebration it was! From hot air balloon adventures, ziplining in the forests, to safari experiences petting elephants, a day trip to different vineyards in Franshoek via a wine tram to spending the day on a yacht at The V&A waterfront in Capetown. We hired a cinematography team to capture all our experiences.

Our trip to South Africa was the perfect way to commemorate our first decade together as a married couple. A trip we will never forget; literally a once in a lifetime experience.
